Eat Foods For better Skin Care.

Sweet Potatoes + Carrots. They’re packed with vitamin A, the same vitamin that makes for the basis of Retin-A and other retinols, and in much the same way those topical anti-aging and anti-acne remedies force your body to shed the old (pore-clogging and dulling) cells on your skin’s surface in favor of a healthier,

younger layer of skin, when eaten, vitamin A rich-foods similarly encourage your body to turn over new cells from the inside out. The result of a diet rich in sweet potatoes and carrots: a brighter complexion less prone to breakouts and age spots. Not into sweet potatoes and carrots? Try papaya and butternut squash, also high in vitamin A.

Berries. Blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and strawberries are more than just a healthy sweet treat. Rather, they’re loaded with antioxidants, which help your body (including your skin!) fight environmental damage from the inside out, making you more resistant to environmental inflammatories, sun damage and even age spots. Eat enough and your internal SPF will even go up! Note: frozen berries are just as nutrient-packed (and often a fraction of the cost!).

Nuts + Seeds. A lot of women are scared of nuts because of their fat content, but fat doesn’t make you fat! Rather, eating fat is actually essential in order for your body to burn fat. Moreover, fat is essential for optimal collagen production and healthier, hydrated skin. And some vitamins, like vitamin A, are fat-soluble, meaning they need fat in order for your body to absorb the benefits.

Lemons. Just a wedge of lemon in your water helps to raise the pH level of the water, helping your body absorb that tall glass of H2O’s hydration benefits while also promoting detoxification. A higher internal pH also boosts immunity and may help prevent chronic disease too.

Raw Cacao Nibs or Powder. In its raw state, cacao (the basis of chocolate!) is high in antioxidants and magnesium and is a natural energy-booster. It’s the processes that take raw cacao to a Hershey bar that make it an unhealthy treat. But that doesn’t mean you need to ban chocolate when on a beauty diet. Rather, the raw brownie batter pudding in The Recipe For Radiance tastes like a decadent chocolate treat, but it’s super healthy, vegan, and gluten-free – and helps boost your antioxidant protection from the inside out for younger, healthier looking skin.
